New Wilmington has its roots grounded in the concept of community. It is a place where your neighbors know not just your name, but will happily lend out tools, extend an invitation for a backyard barbecue, and bake blueberry muffins for the new family on the block.

We live together. And living together implies that we make a constant and conscious effort to support and encourage one other, our businesses, and all of the energy being put forth for the betterment of New Wilmington.

Finally, nothing can happen in a community without the help of many hands contributing to the good work. We would strongly encourage everyone to reflect on how they might Get Involved in the good future of New Wilmington. Some committees has already been formed, and there is always room for more – more voices, more ideas, more passion to see our community succeed.

Westminster’s Field Station And Kiwanis Host A “Shoe In” Event

Content Provided by the New Wilmington Globe Leader Westminster’s Field Station has, since 2005, participated with the New Wilmington Kiwanis Club in recycling athletic shoes through Nike’s Reuse-a-Shoe program. Kiwanis Club members cut out all metal and package the shoes to be sent directly to Nike. On March 13, 483 shoes were kept out of landfills! And, since 2005, 26,000 shoes…

Tour de Donut – Registration OPEN!

Online registration is now open for New Wilmington’s second annual Tour de Donut Bike Tour on Saturday, June 3. Check-in and festivities will begin at 8 a.m. at Westminster College’s Memorial Field House. Pre-registration is $20 per rider and guarantees a limited edition t-shirt and goodie bag. Community Easter Egg Hunt, April 15

New Wilmington will host an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 15 at the New Wilmington Borough Park, 435 South New Castle Street, New Wilmington. The event is free and open to the public.
