Donut DAZE

DD_logoCome enjoy a sweet experience for the whole family!

Help us celebrate National Donut day, Friday June 7th with an extra sweet event! In conjunction with Wilmington Donut DAZEa two-day festival celebrating the deliciousness, and fun, of the DONUT, we are hosting our Fourth Annual Donut Crawl!

Who doesn’t love donuts?!? And this is the perfect place to do it – within a one-hour radius we have over two dozen different independently owned and operated donut shops! To highlight these scrumptious little gifts, we have planned a Donut Festival including our Donut Crawl from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on National Donut Day, Friday June 7th. We’ll have plenty of single donuts available for sale, as well as an evening of games and entertainment that embraces the fun side of life.

Think you have the skills it takes to be a Donut Ninja? Our local Dunkin’ has developed a challenge so fierce, only a true Donut Ninja can complete it with ease. Navigate through Donut on a Stick, Munchkin Pong and others with the fastest ninja winning one dozen donuts a month for a year from Dunkin’! Pre-register here to reserve your spot in this first ever challenge.

The Tour de Donut is to follow on Saturday June 8th.  A great number of local and visiting cyclists already take advantage of the many beautiful country roads in the Wilmington area. We are inviting those, and many more, to partake in an organized ride – with one hitch – DONUTS! Tour de Donut - logoThere will be three different route options available for every level of cyclist – 10 mile, 30 mile, and 60 mile. Donut eating is totally voluntary, but riders will not get their donut medal of completion without eating a total one full dozen donuts during the course of their ride. Of course we will also be offering water, Gatorade, and fruit to help wash the donuts down at each stop. To guarantee a limited edition t-shirt, cyclists should pre-register by May 19 at:

Registration for the Crawl is now open! Please click here for ticket information.

The purpose of this weekend event is to celebrate wonderful assets we have here in our own region – delicious local donuts, beautiful cycling routes, and fun people! But also, to invite those from outside our immediate community to celebrate with us as well!

Can’t wait to see you there! With sugar stuck on your fingers of course 🙂
