Who are the last three people you called/texted? What’s their significance in your life?: The last three people I called or texted are my husband, my daughter and an account executive at the Vindicator. My first text of every day is from my husband, Bob, the love of my life, my best friend, my life partner who I love with all of my heart. We celebrate our 25th anniversary in November. We text every morning because he leaves for work very early before the girls and I are awake. Our texts include what we need to pick up at the grocery store or reminders about game schedules or whatnot but more so they are daily love notes to one another. Yes, sappy but that’s how we start our day! My second text this morning was to my youngest daughter Anna to ask her what time her volleyball game is tonight. Anna and my oldest daughter Grace are my heart and soul. Being their mother is the reason I believe I am on this earth. My third call this morning was to an account exec at the Youngstown Vindicator to place an ad for an upcoming show for Celebrity Series. I absolutely love my job and feel so very blessed to have work that I am passionate about. I am motivated by the belief in the value of the arts in enriching our lives.
What was a lesson you learned this week?: I’m not going to lie. This has been a tough week at the office. My lesson is the serenity prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
What are you most looking forward to in the summer?: This summer I am looking forward to our annual reunion with a group of friends we travelled to China with 16 years ago. We all adopted baby girls and made the commitment to keep them connected and beautiful friendships have flourished as a result. Most of these families adopted a second time as we did so we have a reunion for “big sisters” and “little sisters” totaling 13 teenage girls ranging in age from 13 to 16. Lots of sun, flip flops, bikinis, laughter, hoola hoops, screaming, sun tan lotion, late night kitchen raids, movie nights, sand, boogie boards, mini golf, laughter, love and memories!
If you could could have any superpower, what would it be?: My superpower wish would be to eat anything I want and never gain weight! I love food!
If you could switch lives with one person for the day, who would it be?: I love to travel and gain new perspectives so I think it would be interesting to switch lives for a day with someone living in another country or culture.
What’s your favorite part of your home?: My favorite part of my home is its location. I love that my kids can walk to school and to practices or into town or to the pool or to my office. Everything we need is within walking distance. This can be frustrating to a 16 year old anxious to drive though when she can walk everywhere she needs to go – LOL!
What’s your favorite day of the week? Why?: Saturday is my favorite day of the week because my husband and I don’t have to go into the office and the girls are home. We can enjoy our morning coffee and breakfast together and then work around the house or plan a fun family day.
